Royal Whip Runner-Up Answered

Answered tried to make all in the 10-furlong Group Three Kilfrush Stud Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, August 23.

The four-year-old, dropping back in distance, had a decent lead for most of the race but could not resist Found's final-furlong surge, after which he was eased down by Kevin Manning.

The son of Authorized, trained by Jim Bolger, was beaten four lengths by the winner whose time came to 2m 9.88s on soft ground.

Jim Bolger commented: "We were thrilled with Answered. He hadn't run for a long time and he will come on for the run - I am very happy with him."
