San Diego and Malice bid for more glory at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, in the extended seven-furlong Group Three Hyland Race Colours Doncaster Prelude on Saturday, March 28.

Both four-year-olds have enjoyed success at the Sydney course, with San Diego (John O'Shea/James McDonald) having come from last to first for a nose victory in a handicap over just short of seven furlongs on February 21.

The son of Exceed and Excel, a Group Three runner-up over 10 furlongs, also ran on strongly at the same course to finish a close third on his latest outing in the Group Two APN Outdoor Ajax Stakes over seven and a half furlongs on March 14.

Malice (John O'Shea/Sam Clipperton) returns from a break following a pair of narrow wins at Rosehill Gardens, in the 10-furlong Listed ATC Cup on November 29 and an extended nine-furlong handicap two weeks earlier.

He also captured a mile handicap at Randwick in September and was third at the same course in the 10-furlong Group Three Johnnie Walker Frank Packer in April, 2014.

John O'Shea said: "San Diego has been working really well and his recent runs have been strong.

"At his last start, he just found the inside running a disadvantage and by the time he got away from the inside rail, the race was over.

"I can see him getting a beautiful run just in behind the lead and he will be very hard to hold out.

"Malice presents into this race having had two really strong trials. I still think he will need this run but this is the best we have had him first up and the best he has been going since I have been at Crown Lodge, so I think he will run particularly well."

San Diego and Malice oppose seven others including Group Three winner Leebaz, Group 2 scorer Rudy and British Group Three second Excess Knowledge.
