Masar steps in class for the G3 Solario Stakes over seven furlongs at Sandown Park, UK, on Saturday, September 2.
The two-year-old colt ran well to finish third, beaten two and a quarter lengths, behind September in the Listed Chesham Stakes over the same distance at Royal Ascot on June 24.
Trained by Charlie Appleby, the son of New Approach made a winning debut in a six-furlong maiden at Goodwood on May 25, defeating subsequent G2 Gimcrack Stakes runner-up Invincible Army by a short-head.
Charlie Appleby said: “I have been pleased with Masar since his run at Royal Ascot.
“We purposely gave him a break after that and he has done well for it, with his homework being very pleasing.
“We go to Sandown hopeful of a good run.”
Masar, drawn two and the mount of James Doyle for the first time, takes on six opponents including first time out scorers Purser and Vintager, plus course and distance winner Connect.
