Sweynesse goes for Group One glory in the SKY Racing Rosehill Guineas over a mile and a quarter at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, on Saturday, March 21.

The three-year-old colt, trained by John O'Shea, ran on to take second, beaten three-quarters of a length by Hallowed Crown, in the mile Group One Girvan Waugh Randwick Guineas at Royal Randwick on March 7.

He was also second to Hallowed Crown in the Group Two Blackwoods CRC Hobartville Stakes over seven furlongs at Rosehill Gardens on February 21, when he went down by a half-neck.

Sweynesse finished a close eighth in the 10-furlong Group One Sportingbet Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 25 and came home third over the same trip in the Group One Moet & Chandon Spring Champion at Royal Randwick on October 11.

The son of Lonhro started his career with four straight victories including Group Three wins in the nine-furlong Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on September 27 and the mile Coca-Cola Spring Stakes at Newcastle on September 17.

John O'Shea commented: "Sweynesse's fitness continues to improve and he looks in magnificent order.

"I am a lot happier with his barrier draw in five, which should allow him to dictate the race.

"I think he is a lot more confident heading into this race and hopefully he can finish one better and move into the Group One winner list."
