The inexperienced fillies Chipanda and Nonpareil have the opportunity to establish their standing in Godolphin's strong Australian juvenile team when they run in the G3 Widden Stakes at Randwick on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
For Chipanda (John O'Shea/James McDonald) the race will be the second of her career and the first since she finished third in a field of similar strength last October.
"She's a very talented filly, I've got a lot of time for her," O'Shea said.
"She didn't get the chance to show us what she's got the first time, she just didn't handle it.
"But we've worked a lot on getting her to settle and stay calm and I'm pretty sure we've got that sorted."
Despite her pre-race issues, Chipanda showed plenty of speed and fought on fairly under the circumstances to finish third on her debut run.
Nonpareil (John O'Shea/Sam Clipperton), who makes her debut in the G3 Widden, has shown talent on the training track and is also expected to acquit herself well.
In her only public appearance she showed good speed, closing off late to finish fourth in a trial on January 19.
"That brought her on nicely for this and I'd expect her to be ready to run nicely," O'Shea said.
"We'll have a good look at all our two-year-olds as the big races get closer, but we've got a nice team."
O'Shea has produced six individual Godolphin two-year-old winners so far this season and is expecting to have a competitive presence in the first juvenile G1 of the season, the Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield on February 27.
