56 shortlisted for Trophées du Personnel des Courses et de l’Élevage
On the strength of the success of the first edition, France Galop and Godolphin are proud to partner again to celebrate the dedication of the racing and breeding staff, who are pivotal players in our industry.
Fifty-six employees have been sortlisted for the second round of the 2017 Trophées du Personnel des Courses et de l’Élevage.
The difficult choice was made by a jury of respected racing professional, including trainers, stud managers, jockeys, owners and breeders, who are all recognized in their field. The jury studied each application and will designate the winner in each of the seven categories at a lavish awards ceremony held at Auteuil Racecourse on Saturday, November 25.
The next shortlist will be announced on Monday, October 23, with three finalists in each category, while the final stage of judging will take place in Paris on the day of the awards ceremony, where finalists will be interviewed face-to-face by the judges. Additionally, during the awards evening the Employee of the Year will be chosen from one of the five categories (excluding the Newcomer Award).
Seven awards to celebrate the dedication and commitment of racing and breeding staff are:
Leadership Award: An award to an individual staff member in a managerial or supervisory role, in charge of at least two people in a stud or stable, who has displayed leadership qualities in terms of people management, mentoring and support of staff, always keen to continue improvement and displaying good business acumen.
Dedication to Racing Award: An award to an individual racing stable employee (grooms, hot walkers, exercise riders, etc.) who has shown talent for horsemanship in the racing field, and consistency and reliability in a racing role. Must have at least 15 years of service in the racing industry and must be pivotal in his or her employer’s success.
In the Saddle Award: For those who have shown talent for horsemanship, consistency and reliability in and out of the saddle and/or have achieved something outstanding in the season either in an equine or personal capacity.
Stud Staff Award: This award is for those who have shown expertise, dedication and reliability, excellent horsemanship, adaptability and teamwork, while employed within a stud.
Administration Award: An award to an individual who works in an administration role in the thoroughbred breeding and/or racing sector. Key element of the team, he/she ensures the smooth functioning of the company.
Newcomer Award: An award to an individual who has been working for less than five years in any area of the thoroughbred racing and/or breeding sector who has shown commitment to and ambition for a career in the industry, including a desire to improve and progress their skills and knowledge. He/she is part of the team in her/his own right.
Employee of the year Award: Will be presented to one of the winners of the above categories (except Newcomer Award) who is, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most deserving of recognition for their commitment, hard work and ongoing contribution to the high standards and reputation of the French thoroughbred industry.
Winners, finalists and teams associated with the winners and finalists will be rewarded at the Awards Ceremony, with fantastic prizes sponsered by Godolphin.
Godolphin will also offer the winner of the Newcomer Award category a 5-day trip to Dubai including: a race day experience at Meydan, behind-the-scenes visit to the training center and Zabeel Racing Stables and a tour of the Dubai Equine Hospital.
