Bay Of Plenty contests the Grade Three Belmont Sprint Championship over seven furlongs on dirt at Belmont Park, USA, on Saturday, July 4.
The four-year-old son of Medaglia d´Oro, who usually races up with the pace, was last seen out when a well-beaten ninth after being hampered early on in the Grade One NYRA.com Metropolitan Handicap over a mile on dirt at Belmont Park on June 6.
He made a comfortable winning seasonal return in an allowance optional claimer on April 29.
Bay Of Plenty won on three of his five 2014 outings, taking two allowance contests over a mile on dirt at Belmont Park and an extended mile maiden at Gulfstream Park in great style.
The Kiaran McLaughlin-trained colt is partnered by Irad Ortiz Jr, who is unbeaten on the colt in four outings.
Kiaran McLaughlin reported: "Nothing went right for Bay Of Plenty last time out and being drawn in post one this time isn't great.
"It looks a tough race with Private Zone in there but Bay Of Plenty is doing well and I think we are in with a chance. It is just the post position which has not helped us at all."
The Belmont Park Sprint Championship has attracted seven other starts including Grade One winners The Big Beast and Private Zone.
