Devonshire was caught close home when second in the G3 Lodge Park Stud EBF Park Express Stakes over a mile at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, March 20.
The four-year-old daughter of Fast Company, having her first start of 2016, was always prominent, being settled a close second by William Buick.
She went to the front with two furlongs remaining and looked all over the winner before Queen Blossom came with a strong late run to score by a length, with another three lengths back to the third Joailliere.
The winning time was 1m 46.88s on ground described as yielding to soft.
Devonshire's trainer Willie McCreery commented: "She has run a blinder on her first run back, with William giving her a very good ride.
"Devonshire carried 9st 11lb and gave 16lb to the winner and it was too much for her, but she was well clear of the third who had finished ninth in the Guineas last year.
"We will probably aim her towards a G2 race back here at the Curragh on Guineas weekend (May 21 & 22)."
