Closing third for Beautiful Love in G3 Waya Stakes

Beautiful Love acquitted herself well on her first appearance against older opposition as she rallied late to snatch third in the G3 Waya Stakes at Aqueduct, USA, on Friday, 4 October. 

Looking to follow up her course and distance win in the G3 Jockey Club Oaks, the Charlie Appleby-trained three-year-old soon settled in fourth of the six runners, one off the rail, as Idea Generation established a clear lead. 

Beautiful Love went third entering the back straight and continued to chart a wide path under Joel Rosario, who produced the Godolphin filly down the centre of the course at the top of the lane. 

Having been briefly shuffled back to fifth after making slight contact with Avenue Niel over a furlong out, Beautiful Love galloped out strongly, grabbing third in the closing strides to go down by a length and a half in total behind La Mehana.
