Devonshire finished a pleasing second on her first start of 2015 in the Group Three Leopardstown Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial over seven furlongs at Leopardstown, Ireland, on Sunday, April 12.
The three-year-old filly, trained by Willie McCreery and partnered by James Doyle, raced in fifth of the eight runners towards the inside.
She was asked to improve in the straight and made some progress to go third a furlong and half out and improved into second inside the final furlong.
Devonshire ran on to get within three and three quarter lengths of the winner Stormfly whose time was 1m 38.37s on soft ground.
Willie McCreery said: "It was a good run from Devonshire who was well ridden by James Doyle.
"She stayed at it well and James reported that a mile would not be too far for her.
"It was a pity the rain came as she prefers better ground. There are no plans at the moment, I just wanted to start her off."
