Dream Castle added another G3 placing in Europe to his international CV with a good second in the nine-furlong Darley Stakes at Newmarket, UK, on Saturday, 10 October.
The six-year-old filled the same position behind Barney Roy in the 2017 G3 Greenham Stakes and has gone on to some notable efforts worldwide, headed by victory in the G1 Jebel Hatta Sponsored By Emirates Airline at the 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival.
After breaking well, Dream Castle raced behind the leaders in third before cruising up to press for the lead approaching the final quarter-mile. The Saeed bin Suroor-trained son of Frankel kicked into a clear advantage for Jim Crowley soon after but was reeled in by Lady Wannabe with half a furlong left to go down by a length and three-quarters.
Saeed bin Suroor said: “Dream Castle ran well but the soft ground was against him. He will head to Bahrain now for the Bahrain International Trophy (Friday, 20 November), where hopefully conditions will be more to his liking.”
