Dubai Millennium third for Promising Run

Promising Run ran well when third in the G3 Dubai Millennium Stakes over 10 furlongs on turf at Meydan, UAE, on Thursday, February 16.
The four-year-old Hard Spun filly broke quickly from the outside stall 10 under Oisin Murphy, raced prominently and initially was a bit keen.
She went to the front after coming across towards the inside rail and took the field along at a steady pace.
Promising Run continued at the head of affairs until she was overhauled by the winner Zarak with just under a furlong and a half to go.
She kept on but was overtaken for second by Earnshaw inside the final furlong, beaten just over three lengths in total by Zarak who won in 2m 3.73s.
Her trainer Saeed bin Suroor remarked: “Promising Run performed well in this strong G3 contest.
“She was beaten by a better horse tonight. There are no plans at the moment and we will see how she comes out of this race.”
