Trainer Andre Fabre is to send Godolphin colt Talismanic for a crack at Sunday's G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, which will be run at Chantilly for the first time.
Talismanic finished a creditable fourth to Almanzor, Zarak and Dicton in the G1 Prix du Jockey-Club on the course on June 5 and has continued to improve during the year, according to Fabre.
"He has progressed," the trainer said. "He has a bit to find on ratings with some of his rivals, but he is a very honest individual, who always gives his best and I am satisfied that he comes into the race in good condition.
"Any cut in the ground will help him, but he is a versatile horse, who has run well on all types of ground," he added.
Talismanic recently won a listed race over a mile and a half at Saint-Cloud, which kept him ticking over nicely for the Arc.
