Fond Words Going For Texanita Success

Fond Words drops down to an extended five furlongs for the Group Three Prix Texanita at Maisons-Laffitte, France on Monday, May 11.

The Henri-Alex Pantall-trained filly faded to seventh on her latest start in the Group Three Prix Imprudence over seven furlongs at the same course on April 2.

Four Words made four appearances on Polytrack, including when flying home to win by a nose in the Listed Prix Ronde De Nuit over six and a half furlongs at Chantilly on March 12.

The three-year-old daughter of Shamardal started her career with three outings at Cagnes-sur-Mer, the first of which resulted in another nose success in a mile contest for newcomers on January 14.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godophin said: "Fond Words is a decent filly and we hope that the drop down in trip will help.

"She didn't quite stay in the Prix Imprudence and we are hoping for a good run."

Fond Words, with Mickael Barzalona in the saddle, takes on 12 other three-year-olds from stall two, including Group Three winner Goken, Group Three runner-up City Money and dual course scorer Sallal.
