Jimmy Two Times finished a close second in the G3 Prix Messidor over the straight mile at Maisons-Laffitte, France, on Sunday, 22 July.
The five-year-old Kendargent horse, who has now been second or third on all his five starts this year, broke well and was held up in second on the outside by Mickael Barzalona as Japanese raider Geniale took them along.
The Andre Fabre-trained Jimmy Two Times, racing slightly keenly, was asked to challenge over a furlong out and quickly moved up to head Geniale at the distance.
But Geniale soon rallied, went to the front again and ran on to win by a half-length from Jimmy Two Times who had the third Zalamea a length and a half further in arrears.
The winning time came to 1m 37.62s on ground described as good. Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “Jimmy Two Times ran well again and there are no excuses.”
