Future Empire goes for a second victory on Newmarket's July Course in the Group Three Bahrain Trophy over a mile and five furlongs on Thursday, July 9.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained three-year-old made a winning debut at the course just under 12 months ago with a decisive success in a seven-furlong maiden.

He subsequently ran well in a pair of Group Three races as a two-year-old, going down by a short-head in the seven-furlong European Wealth Solario Stakes at Sandown Park and taking third in the Betfred Goals Galore Autumn Stakes over a mile at Newmarket.

Future Empire has made three appearances so far this season, most recently when running on well to finish third in the Listed Queen's Vase over two miles at Royal Ascot on June 19.

Saeed bin Suroor said: "Future Empire ran a good race at Royal Ascot.

"He is taking a step down in distance but we want to give him a chance over a slightly shorter trip.

"He is in good form and the ground will suit him."

James Doyle takes the ride again on Future Empire, who opposes four other three-year-olds headed by King Edward VII Stakes runner-up Mr Singh and easy maiden winner Horseshoe Bay.Kite Wood won the Bahrain Trophy for Godolphin in 2009.
