G2 third for Moonlight Magic at Chantilly

Moonlight Magic kept on to finish third as he dropped down to a mile for the G2 Qatar Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Chantilly, France, on Saturday, October 1.
The Jim Bolger-trained three-year-old, a G3 winner over 10 furlongs earlier this year, broke well under Kevin Manning and tacked across from his wide draw to race in a clear second behind Hello My Love after a furlong.
Moonlight Magic was relegated to third by Taareef as the race began in earnest entering the final quarter-mile but the Cape Cross colt battled all the way to the line to go down by just under two lengths in total.
Taareef quickened strongly to beat Hello My Love by a length and three-quarters in 1m 43.19s on good ground, with a short-neck back to Moonlight Magic.
