Alms returned to her best with a rallying second behind G1 winner Regal Glory in the inaugural G3 Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Gulfstream Park, USA, on Saturday, 29 January.
The City Zip homebred, twice successful at G3 level as a juvenile, raced in a close fifth initially before being sent on into a length advantage by Joel Rosario.
Shifty She moved up to dispute the running leaving the back straight and briefly headed Alms turning in, only for the Godolphin mare to battle gamely and regain a narrow lead at the top of the straight.
The two continued to duel in front until Regal Glory swooped approaching the final half-furlong, with the Michael Stidham-trained Alms staying on resolutely to hold on for second.
