Hungerford call for hardy 'Brave'

Godolphin's Home Of The Brave is set to reappear in Saturday's G2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, 18 days after arguably a career best performance at Goodwood. Jockey Jim Crowley will be on board.

The four-year-old, who has an excellent record at seven furlongs, finished second to fellow Godolphin runner Dutch Connection, over that distance, in the G2 Lennox Stakes at the Glorious meeting last month.

"Home Of The Brave has come back from Goodwood spot on," trainer Hugo Palmer reports. "Being a year older, he seems to be taking his racing better.

"I was happy with his work yesterday, and he has come through it well. And judging by the weather forecast, he should get the ground he needs to be at his best," Palmer points out.

Home Of The Brave finished first past the post in four of his five outings over seven furlongs. Overall, his career record stands at 11 starts for 4 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 third.
