A sensational display from Ingratiating at Caulfield on Saturday added further lustre to an outstanding group of Godolphin three-year-olds throughout the world this year.

The Frosted colt came from last to first for a thrilling victory in the G3 Vain Stakes, a race won by subsequent three-time G1 winner Bivouac in 2019.

His victory ensures hopes are high that the Australian cohort of three-year-olds can emulate an outstanding season for Godolphin’s Classic crop in the northern hemisphere, headlined by the exploits of Essential Quality, Adayar and Hurricane Lane.

Ingratiating features among a trio of three-year-old colts described by trainer James Cummings as having “a real X factor”, alongside Inglis Sires’ winner Anamoe and Paulele, who captured the Listed The Rosebud at Randwick earlier this month.

Up next for Ingratiating will be the Listed Poseidon Stakes at Flemington ahead of potential runs in the G2 Danehill Stakes and the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes as he looks to establish himself among the top sprinting ranks.

Doncaster Mile hero Cascadian is due to carry Godolphin hopes in Australia’s first G1 of the season, the Winx Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

York’s Ebor Festival is the feature meeting in Europe this week, with Kemari and Yibir among a clutch of Group-race runners that could also include Space Blues and Real World.

Progressive juvenile Noble Truth will aim for G3 honours in the Acomb Stakes at the same fixture, while fellow two-year-old Fleur d’Iris could also step up to Pattern company for the G2 Prix du Calvados at Deauville this weekend.
