Jack Hobbs returns to action in the Group Three totescoop6 September Stakes over 12 furlongs on Polytrack at Kempton Park, UK, on Saturday, September 5.

The three-year-old son of Halling has enjoyed a great run of form in 2015 and recorded the biggest victory of his career last time out with a tremendous five-length Classic success in the Group One Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby over 12 furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland, on June 27.

The John Gosden-trained colt finished runner-up, beaten three and a half lengths, behind Golden Horn in Britain's principal Classic, the 12-furlong Group One Investec Derby ,at Epsom Downs on June 6 and chased home the same rival when the two and three-quarter length runner-up in the Group Two Betfred Dante Stakes over an extended 10 furlongs at York on May 14.

On his seasonal reappearance, he was the very impressive 12-length winner of a handicap over 10 furlongs at Sandown Park on April 24.

Jack Hobbs made a winning debut on his only previous start on an All-Weather surface, when taking an extended mile maiden on Tapeta at Wolverhampton in December, 2014.

The main target for Jack Hobbs is likely to be the Group One Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp, France, on October 4 and John Gosden explained the reason why the colt is running at Kempton Park.

He said: "Jack Hobbs has freshened up well and we are using this as a prep race since it is in Britain and on a surface he knows well."

William Buick, who partnered Jack Hobbs at the Curragh and Epsom Downs, takes the ride again.

Six other starters are set to go to post in the September Stakes, including the Group Three-placed performers Fire Fighting and Niceofyoutotellme plus Listed scorer Mutatis Mutandis.

Godolphin has won the September Stakes four times, courtesy of Mamool (2004), Kirklees (2009) and Prince Bishop (2013 & 2014).
