Log Out Island returns to G2 company for the Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte over six furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte, France, on Friday, October 16.

The Richard Hannon-trained two-year-old has shown smart and consistent form during his first season.

The Dark Angel colt made all of the running for a decisive victory over the same distance in the Listed totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar on October 3.

He has run three excellent races at G2 level, going down by a length and a quarter to Ribchester in the six-furlong Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on September 19, finishing a close third over a furlong shorter in the Fly Aer Lingus From Doncaster Sheffield Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster eight days earlier and coming second in the Norfolk Stakes, also over five furlongs, at Royal Ascot in June.

Richard Hannon commented: "Log Out Island has only cantered since his win at Redcar but looks to be in good form at the moment.

"It is soft ground out in France and he should have a good chance."

Log Out Island, drawn four with James Doyle up, faces seven other two-year-olds including unbeaten Irish G3 winner Smash Williams and Yakaba, who beat the Godolphin colt by three lengths in a Deauville Listed race on heavy going in August.
