Musis Amica & Hadith among four Godolphin runners at Deauville on Saturday

Godolphin is set to be four-handed at Deauville, France on Saturday, 18 August with runners engaged across three contests at the Normandy venue.
Three-year-old fillies Musis Amica (Andre Fabre/Mickael Barzalona) and Hadith (Charlie Appleby/William Buick) and both line up in the G2 Shadwell Prix de la Nonette over 10 furlongs.
The very talented and lightly-raced Musis Amica, went down by a neck on her latest start when runner-up in the G1 Prix de Diane over an extended 10 furlongs at Chantilly on 17 June.
The daughter of Dawn Approach stayed on strongly when a close sixth in another French Classic, the mile Emirates Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, at Longchamp on May 13,
She began her 2018 campaign with a comfortable success in the G3 Prix de la Grotte over the same course and distance on 15 April.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Musis Amica has been very impressive in defeat on her last two outings.
“We are still a bit perplexed about her true attributes, such as whether she needs further or softer ground.
“This race will hopefully act as a springboard for the second half of the season and we want to see how she gets on before making any further plans.”
Hadith is making her first start of 2018, having been last seen when successful in the mile Listed Montrose Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket, UK in November.
New Approach filly was the impressive winner of an extended mile maiden at Nottingham in October and began her career when third in a similar contest at Newmarket in September.
Charlie Appleby said: “I have been pleased with Hadith’s preparation coming into this race.
“Her last start was as a two-year-old when she won the Montrose Stakes at Newmarket and we feel that whatever she does this weekend, there is going to be some improvement. We are looking forward to an autumn campaign with her.”
The Godolphin duo are due to meet six rivals in the Shadwell Prix de la Nonette including G3 My Sister Nat and Mascha, both G3 seconds last time out.
Beyond Reason (Charlie Appleby/William Buick) is one of seven runners in the G2 Shadwell Prix du Calvados over seven furlongs.
The two-year-old filly gained a nose success over the course and distance when staying on determinedly to take the G3 Prix Six Perfections on 28 July.
She finished a creditable fourth in the seven-furlong Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot on 23 June and was the comfortable four-length winner of a six-furlong Polytrack maiden at Kempton Park on 6 June.
Charlie Appleby commented: “Beyond Reason brings course and distance winning form into the race following her win in July.
“She is stepping up in grade again but has come out of her last success well. If anything it looks like she has potentially come forward a bit more, which she needs to. We are going there in good health.”
The fourth Godolphin runner at Deauville on 18 August is Al Hilalee (Charlie Appleby/William Buick), who goes to post in the mile Listed Criterium du Fonds.
The two-year-old Dubawi colt is unbeaten after making an impressive debut when the three and a quarter length winner of a seven-furlong maiden at Newmarket on 13 July and has eight rivals.
Charlie Appleby remarked: “Al Hilalee was still showing signs of greenness when he won at Newmarket on debut.
“He has come on mentally since then and the step up in trip is going to suit him as well.
“He is a horse that has future over a trip and hopefully he can be competitive over a mile this weekend.”
