Racing Makes Winter Hill Stakes History

Racing History successfully stepped up in class to win the Group Three Unibet Winter Hill Stakes over 10 furlongs at Windsor, UK, on Saturday, August 29, maintaining his unbeaten record this year.

The three-year-old Pivotal colt, trained by Saeed bin Suroor and ridden by William Buick, had won a Haydock Park maiden and a Chester handicap previously in 2015.

Racing History, slow into stride as the stalls opened, soon chased the leaders and was asked to progress with a quarter-mile remaining.

The full-brother to dual Group One winner Farhh came through to challenge by the distance and showed a good turn of foot to lead well inside the final furlong, scoring by a length from Cannock Chase in 2m 7.75s on good to soft ground.

Saeed bin Suroor said: "Racing History is improving, similar to his brother Farhh. We will take him to France for the Group Two Prix Dollar (Longchamp) on October 3 as he needs give in the ground.

"I thought he would run a huge race tonight - I have liked him since last year. He has taken time but is a much better horse this year.

"He reminds me of his brother, is a sound horse and is improving. He will be even better next year."

William Buick added: "He is an exciting horse. It was a brave choice to come here but he had pleased at home so fair play to Saeed and the whole team; they made the right decision.

"The ground was right and he is a very exciting horse for the future. Racing History has got gears and is still learning. He has only got to keep progressing and we are very hopeful for him.

"He is potentially a very good horse."
