Sentiero Italia seeks a third consecutive win on her return to G1 company in the 32nd running of the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup over nine furlongs on turf at Keeneland, USA on Saturday, October 10.

The three-year-old filly, representing Kiaran McLaughlin, steps back up in class following a pair of impressive G2 victories over the same trip, including an impressive success over Blond Me and Miss Temple City in the Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park on September 12.

Sentiero Italia beat Miss Temple City by a length and a quarter in the Maker's Mark Lake Placid Stakes at Saratoga on August 14 and acquitted herself well on her only previous G1 appearance when fourth of 14 to Lady Eli in the 10-furlong Belmont Oaks on July 4.

Joel Rosario, who rode Sentiero Italia to victory in the Sands Point Stakes and Maker's Mark Lake Placid Stakes, partners the daughter of Medaglia d'Oro again.

Kiaran McLaughlin commented: "Sentiero Italia is great. She continues to train well and do everything right.

"We draw post nine in a field of nine, which I think is OK because she breaks well and we will be forwardly placed.

"Miss Temple City might be the one to beat again but we are happy with Sentiero Italia and she will be favoured rightfully."

Sentiero Italia takes on eight other three-year-old fillies including Blond Me and Temple City plus Her Emmynency and Prize Exhibit, who were second and third in the G1 Del Mar Oaks.
