Sentiero Italia finished well to gain third in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup over nine furlongs on turf at Keeneland, USA on Saturday, October 10.
The three-year-old filly, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin and ridden by Joel Rosario, broke well from the outside draw and raced in sixth of the nine runners.
The daughter of Medaglia d'Oro was slightly outpaced when asked to improve on the final bend and dropped back to seventh.
Widest into the straight, Sentiero Italia came with a good run to take third inside the final furlong but never challenged the first two. Her Emmynency beat Miss Temple City a head, with two and three quarter lengths back to the Godolphin runner.
The time for the winner on firm going was 1m 48.84s.
Joel Rosario said: "Sentiero Italia took a little bit of time to really get into the race and then finished well.
"It looked like the winner Her Emmynency kept on going. It was hard to catch them. I thought we were going to be a little closer."
