Indulgent returns to seven furlongs for the G3 Bed o’ Roses Invitational Stakes on dirt at Belmont Park, USA, on Friday, June 9.

The four-year-old filly went down by a half a length to Highway Star over the same trip in the G3 Distaff Handicap at Aqueduct on April 9 and faded to finish last of five behind the same filly in the G2 Ruffian Stakes over a mile at Belmont Park on May 13.

Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, she started out with five appearances over six furlongs, including an easy maiden success at Parx in October and two victories at Aqueduct in November and January.

Irad Ortiz Jr, on board for all seven of Indulgent’s starts, again takes the ride on the daughter of Bernadini, who is drawn in stall three and races against nine fillies and mares including last year’s winner By The Moon and G2 Barbara Fritchie Stakes scorer High Ridge Road.

Kiaran McLaughlin commented: “Indulgent appeared not to like the really wet track in the Ruffian Stakes - she was going nicely in front and then just started spinning her wheels.

“We are taking her back to seven furlongs, although this looks a tough race for the grade.

“She has been working well and we are expecting her to run accordingly.”
