Storm Damage passes dirt test with G2 Godolphin Mile third

Storm Damage produced a fine performance on his first dirt appearance with a battling third in the G2 Godolphin Mile on Dubai World Cup Night at Meydan, Saturday, 26 March.

The Night Of Thunder four-year-old showed good speed from the gates under Christophe Soumillon and disputed the early running before settling in second behind Bathrat Leon after a furlong.

Desert Wisdom passed Storm Damage over a furlong and a half out but the Saeed bin Suroor-trained runner kept on gamely in the closing stages, going down by four and a half lengths in total.
