Strobe acquitted himself well on his Graded Stakes debut with a clear second in the G3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap at Oaklawn Park, USA, on Saturday, 15 April.
Burdened with the widest draw in stall 10, the Brad Cox-trained colt showed good speed from the gates to dispute fourth as Skelly set the early fractions.
Strobe made headway on the outside of the field approaching the straight and quickened past Cogburn and Pirate Rick to go second with a furlong to race.
Skelly skipped clear in the straight, with Strobe sticking to his task well under Florent Geroux to go down by two and a quarter lengths behind the all-the-way winner. Tejano Twist made late headway to take third, a further length back.
