Strobe produced another solid effort in Graded company when finishing third behind Breeders’ Cup winner Elite Power and Anarchist in the G2 True North Stakes at Belmont Park, USA, on Saturday, 10 June.
The Brad Cox-trained sprinter, runner-up on his first Graded outing in April’s G3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap, was quickest leaving the stalls and soon raced in a three-quarter length second behind Today’s Flavor.
Strobe took closer order to dispute the running at the top of the straight before Elite Power swept by with just under a furlong and a half to race. The Godolphin colt kept on for Florent Geroux and was passed by Anarchist inside the final furlong to go down by five and a half lengths in total.
