Toscanini is out to continue good performances at the Curragh, Ireland, in the Group Three Gerrardstown House Stud Supporting Breast Cancer Research Renaissance Stakes over six furlongs on Saturday, August 22.

The three-year-old colt, who is trained by Michael Halford, has finished second on all three of his previous starts at the course, most recently when going down by a short-head to Mattmu in the six-furlong Group Three Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club Phoenix Sprint on August 9.

He went down by a length and a half to subsequent dual Classic winner Gleneagles in the seven-furlong Group One Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes in September and found only Dick Whittington half a length too strong in a Group Three race over half a furlong shorter in July, 2014.

The son of Shamardal has won conditions races over six furlongs at Navan and Naas this season and came home a close fifth in the Group Three Jersey Stakes over seven furlongs at Royal Ascot in June.

Michael Halford commented: "We have been very pleased with Toscanini since his last run, when the nod of heads went against us.

"He will get his favoured good to firm ground and we are very happy with him."

Shane Foley partners Toscanini, who faces nine rivals including multiple Group One victor Gordon Lord Byron plus Group Two winners Moviesta and Ansgar.
