Very Special makes her Group race debut on her return to turf in the G2 Cape Verdi Sponsored By EGA over a mile at Meydan, UAE, on Thursday, February 4.

The lightly-raced four-year-old had three appearances, all over a mile on Polytrack, in the UK last year and was beaten a length and a quarter when second in a Listed contest at Kempton Park on November 18.

She also filled the runner-up spot, going down by a half-length, in Listed company at Lingfield Park in October and easily won a conditions race at Kempton Park in April.

The daughter of Lope De Vega ran well on her only other outings, finishing second in a valuable sales race at Newmarket and winning impressively a six-furlong Yarmouth maiden on her debut, both on turf in 2014.

Her trainer Saeed bin Suroor reported: "Very Special won nicely at the start of last season and we gave her a break after that victory.

"She ran well on her two All-Weather appearances in the autumn and I have been pleased with her work out here in Dubai.

"She has won over a mile in the past and the trip suits her. I am hoping for a good run on Thursday."

Very Special, ridden for the fifth time by James Doyle, takes on six rivals from stall seven.
