Naas maiden winner Virtudes returns to the County Kildare, Ireland, course when stepping up in class for the G3 Lacken Stakes (16.15hrs local time) over six furlongs on Sunday, May 21.

The Invincible Spirit filly, trained by Willie McCreery and ridden by Billy Lee, has made two appearances over the course and distance, staying on well to score by two and a quarter lengths on May 1 after finishing down the field on March 26.

She is drawn three and lines up against eight other three-year-old fillies, with unbeaten G1 winner Caravaggio and Listed scorer Khukri the main participants.

Willie McCreery said: “Virtudes seems to be in good form and has come on for her maiden win.

“She needs decent ground – she ran on good to firm last time and the reason she ran badly on her debut was purely down to the ground being very soft.

“I am expecting that the ground on Sunday to be more or less the same as she won on. It is drying out, although there is the chance of a localised shower.

“This is a very hot race and it would be great if she could run into a place.”
