Jefferson Street finished a clear second behind impressive gate-to-wire winner World Record in the G2 Amsterdam Stakes at Saratoga, USA, on Friday, 26 July.
Making his Graded Stakes debut in the dirt sprint for three-year-olds, Jefferson Street raced in fourth on the outside of Donegal Momentum and Pure Force as World Record tore off into an early three-length lead.
Jefferson Street took third from Pure Force leaving the back before looming up to grab second from Donegal Momentum rounding the far turn. The Bill Mott-trained colt kept to his task for Junior Alvarado but was no match for World Record, who powered further clear close home to score by nearly seven lengths.
