Bow Creek bids for a third consecutive Group Two victory on his seasonal return in the bet365 Mile at Sandown Park, UK, on Friday, April 24.

The four-year-old colt battled gamely for a half-length success in the Clipper Boomerang Mile at Leopardstown, Ireland, on September 13 and made all to score by a length and a half in the Doom Bar Celebration Mile at Goodwood, UK, on August 23,

He was third in the Group Three Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes, also over a mile at Goodwood, on August 1, and went down by half a length when second under top-weight in the mile Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot on June 19.

William Buick partners the son of Shamardal for the first time.

Trainer Charlie Appleby said: "Bow Creek is fit, well and, based on his last two wins, should be competitive.

"I think a stiff mile and quick ground will suit him. He is carrying a penalty, as are a couple of other horses in the field, and will come on for his first start of the year but should be fit enough to run well.

"It's a starting point for the season and gives us the chance to know the horse a bit better."

Bow Creek faces seven others including Shifting Power, runner-up and fourth in mile Classics last year, plus Newmarket Group Two winners Custom Cut and Here Comes When.
