Creative Force secured a third G1 placing this season as he finished with a late rattle to take third in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Keeneland, USA, on Saturday, 5 November.
Last year’s G1 British Champions Sprint winner broke on terms from stall one in the extended five-furlong contest but was shuffled back to 10th after suffering early interference.
Creative Force hugged the inside rail until William Buick angled out the Dubawi four-year-old at the top of the straight. He flew home inside the final furlong, getting to within three-quarters of a length of all-the-way winner Caravel.
Trainer Charlie Appleby said: “Creative Force broke so well and William [Buick] had a nice pitch, but Flotus came across on us and pushed us back a bit.
“Creative Force has put up another solid performance and doesn’t know how to run a bad race. We knew he would do his best work towards the end, being a six-furlong horse, and I couldn’t be happier with him.”
