Toormore gained a decisive victory in the Group Two International Topkapi Trophy over a mile on turf at Veliefendi, Turkey, on Sunday, September 6.

The four-year-old colt, trained by Richard Hannon and with James Doyle up, was well away from the stalls and raced a bit keenly initially when a close second towards the outside.

Toormore settled in second of the seven runners before cruising up in the straight and was driven into the lead with just over a furlong to go. He went clear and was ridden out to maintain the advantage of two and and lengths over Perfect Warrior at the winning post. His time was 1m 35.71s.

Richard Hannon said: "I am delighted with Toormore. This victory is good compensation for France last time when the ground was a bit soft for him.

"It is very hot here in Turkey and as a result he was a bit restless and keen. But he was very professional, as ever, in winning.

"We are now thinking about Hong Kong (Group One, Longines Hong Kong Mile, December 13) and then maybe Dubai."
