Folkswood just caught in G1 Jebel Hatta

Four-year-old Folkswood made further improvement when runner-up in the G1 Jebel Hatta Sponsored By Emirates Airline over nine furlongs on turf at Meydan, UAE, on Super Saturday, March 4.
The son of Exceed And Excel, trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by William Buick, broke smartly from the outside 12 stall and gradually moved over towards the inside.
He went to the front after and nearly made the rest of running, only being caught in the closing stages by Decorated Knight who won by a neck in 1m 49.95s,
It was Folkswood’s first Pattern race and Charlie Appleby commented: “He has run his heart out and it goes without saying that this was a career-best performance.
“I could not be happier with Folkswood. He will miss Dubai World Cup night and I have my eye on races in America and Australia, where he will be suited by flat tracks over a mile and quarter.”
