Frosted steps up to Grade One level for the Twinspires.com Wood Memorial Stakes over nine furlongs on dirt at Aqueduct, USA, on Saturday, April 4.
The three-year-old colt has run well on his two previous starts at the New York course, including when going down by half a length to Leave The Light On, the pair eight lengths clear, in the nine-furlong Grade Two Remsen Stakes at the end of November.
He gained a decisive victory in a mile maiden at the same course in October. Kiaran McLaughlin's charge has made two appearances, both over an extended mile, at Gulfstream Park so far this year, and faded to fourth in the Grade Two Besilu Stables Fountain Of Youth Stakes on February 21.
The son of Tapit was second, beaten five and a half lengths by Upstart, on his first start of 2015 in the Grade Two Lambholm South Holy Bull Stakes on January 24. Joel Rosario takes the ride on Frosted for the first time.
Kiaran McLaughlin commented: "Frosted could not be doing any better. We have changed several things with him and he is training great.
"The course at Gulfstream Park was very slow, deep and dry in the Fountain Of Youth Stakes and Aqueduct should suit him better, while Joel Rosario is taking over the ride.
"He might have displaced his soft palate last time out and has had a Llewellyn procedure to stop it happening again. We also worked him behind horses and he didn't pull himself up when he went by them.
"We have tried to resolve some of the issues that we weren't sure of and we are looking forward to him running a big race. He really needs to if he wants to make the Kentucky Derby - we don't want to go to Churchill Downs unless we have a chance of winning."
Frosted opposes six other three-year-olds including Grade One Champagne Stakes victor Daredevil plus El Kabeir, Tiz Shea D, Toasting Master and Tencendur, who were first, second, fourth and fifth in the Grade Three Gotham Stakes.
