Galashiels stayed on to take second in a tactical renewal of the G3 Prix d'Hedouville at Longchamp, France, on Sunday, 5 May,
The Andre Fabre-trained five-year-old, winner of the Listed Prix Lord Seymour over the course and distance on his previous start, raced in a clear last of the five runners as Goliath set pedestrian fractions.
Switched out with half a mile to race, Galashiels took fourth soon after before being produced wide at the top of the straight.
Galashiels made late inroads under Alexis Pouchin, passing Trabuco and Shakti inside the final furlong to go down by three lengths behind all-the-way winner Goliath.
