Grand Prix de Chantilly bid by Talismanic

Talismanic, fourth in last season’s G1 Prix du Jockey Club, returns to Chantilly, France, for the 12-furlong G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly (17.00hrs local time) on Sunday, June 4.
The Andre Fabre-trained colt went down by four and a half lengths in the extended 10-furlong Classic 12 months ago before going on to finish a close fifth in the G1 Grand Prix de Paris over a furlong and a half further at Saint-Cloud the following month.
He has made three starts, all over a mile and a half, so far this year including a routine victory in Maisons-Laffitte Listed contest in April and a good second in the G3 Prix d'Hedouville at Saint-Cloud on May 8.
Mickael Barzalona partners the four-year-old son of Medaglia d'Oro, who tackles four rivals headed by G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud scorer Silverwave, G1 Prix Vermeille winner Left Hand and G2 Prix Chaudenay victor Doha Dream.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “Talismanic has come on for each of his runs this season and goes into Sunday’s race with a good chance.
“There is a bit of a question mark over quick ground but showers are forecast.
“Talismanic is a very straightforward horse and the small field will be no inconvenience.”
