Inns Of Court capitalised on a drop in grade and trip as he recorded a comfortable success in the seven-furlong G3 Prix du Palais-Royal at Maisons-Laffitte, France, on Saturday, June 3.

The Andre Fabre-trained colt, who came home sixth after suffering a slipped saddle in the mile G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains, was held up at the rear of the eight runners by Mickael Barzalona.

He ran on strongly down the centre of the course to head Attendu just inside the final furlong and asserted in the closing stages for a length and a quarter victory in 1m 25.43s on soft ground.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “Inns Of Court switched off nicely and came with a smooth run to win very nicely.

“There are no plans at the moment. The trip was no problem today but he could step back up a mile at some point in the future.”
