King Of Conquest was narrowly denied at Meydan, UAE, for a second time this year as he finished a head second in the G3 Al Khail Trophy on Friday, 24 January.
The six-year-old had closed strongly from the rear to go down by a neck on his first attempt at the 14-furlong distance at the start of the year but raced closer to the pace this time in third.
Keffaaf relegated King Of Conquest to fourth at the halfway point, with William Buick producing the Charlie Appleby-trained stayer wide turning in.
King Of Conquest stayed on in the closing stages, grabbing second from Prydwen half a furlong out, although the line came just in time for Keffaaf, who held on after getting first run at the top of the straight.
