Latharnach drops down to Group Three company for the mile Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood, UK, on Friday, July 31.
The three-year-old colt, trained by Charlie Appleby, stayed on well to take second, beaten two and a half lengths by Gleneagles, in the Group One St James's Palace Stakes over the same distance at Royal Ascot on June 16.
The son of Iffraaj was also second on his seasonal return in a seven-furlong Listed race at Newmarket on May 16, and gained two easy wins over seven furlongs at Sandown Park last season.
Charlie Appleby said: "Latharnach produced a career-best performance at Royal Ascot and came out of that run well.
"He has enjoyed a nice preparation for this race, which was always the target following the St James's Palace Stakes, and we are looking forward to seeing how he gets on."
Latharnach, who is ridden by William Buick again, faces nine rivals including St James's Palace Stakes fourth Aktabantay, QIPCO 1000 Guineas fourth Malabar, Group One runner-up Johnny Barnes and debut winner Convey.
Godolphin has won the Thoroughbred Stakes with Tamayaz (1995), Slipstream (1999) and Neebras (2011).
