Nell Gwyn challenge by Kazimiera
Three-year-old Dubawi filly Kazimiera makes her seasonal debut in the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes (15.35hrs local time) over seven furlongs at Newmarket on Wednesday, April 19.
She started her career well when winning an Ascot maiden over the same trip on July 22 last year and then went on to finish in the frame in two Listed contests.
Her trainer Charlie Appleby commented: “Kazimiera broke her maiden before finishing fourth in a Listed contest at the Curragh and second to Saeed’s (bin Suroor) Really Special at Newmarket in another Listed race over a mile.
“She has wintered well and the quick ground will suit her. She has to find something on ratings but I have been pleased with her and hopefully she can put up a decent performance.”
Kazimiera, exiting from stall 10 with William Buick on board, meets 10 rivals including G1 winner Brave Ana, G2 scorer Roly Poly, G3 winner Sea Of Grace and French challenger Pamplemousse.
