Romantic Style returns to France for the G1 Prix Jean Prat at Deauville on Sunday, 7 July, on a card that sees Tribalist turn his hand to sprinting.

Trained by Charlie Appleby, Romantic Style made a winning comeback at the Normandy course in April, when she defeated Ramatuelle and Tamfana in the G3 Prix Imprudence.

The Night Of Thunder filly produced a creditable effort in Longchamp’s G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches on her latest start, in which she went down by half a length in fourth.

Charlie Appleby said: “Romantic Style goes there in great nick. She is a course and distance winner, which is always a plus, and we feel the drop back in trip is going to suit. Any rain they receive will be appreciated as she handles ease in the ground. Added to the fact she gets a bit of weight from the colts, she should be very competitive.”

Tribalist tackles six furlongs for the first time in the G3 Prix de Ris-Orangis. with a view to taking in next month’s G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest.

The Farhh five-year-old has proved himself a high-class miler for Andre Fabre, taking back-to-back editions of Saint-Cloud’s G3 Prix Edmond Blanc and G2 Prix du Muguet in 2023 and 2024.

Tribalist has made three appearances over seven furlongs, the latest of which saw him annex the Listed Prix Matchem at Saint-Cloud in 2022.

Recent Longchamp scorer Mountain Song goes for a third straight win in the Listed Prix Goldikova, while course scorer Valdivara and Wild Goddess line up in the Listed Prix Amandine.
