Promising two-year-olds Round Two and Buratino step up to Group Two level for the Coventry Stakes over six furlongs at Royal Ascot, UK, on Tuesday, June 16.

Round Two (Jim Bolger IRE/Kevin Manning), a son of Teofilo, is unbeaten in two starts and heads to the Royal Meeting on the back of a straightforward success in the five-furlong Listed Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland, on May 23.

He beat subsequent Listed winner Argentero comfortably on his debut in a Naas conditions race over a furlong further 10 days earlier.

Buratino (Mark Johnston/William Buick) also scored in Listed company on his latest start with a facile win in the Investec Woodcote Stakes over six furlongs at Epsom Downs on June 6.

The Exceed And Excel colt was runner-up in a five-furlong Listed contest at Sandown Park on May 28, and won a Newmarket novice contest over a furlong further on May 15.

He started out with two appearances over five furlongs, coming home third to Log Out Island in an Ascot conditions race on April 29 and winning a Polytrack maiden at Chelmsford City on March 28.

Jim Bolger said: "Round Two is very well and everything has gone very smoothly with him all year."

Mark Johnston commented: "Buratino is in great form. It was a tremendous win at Epsom, which earned him his place in this race.

"He has been defeated twice but he looked to have improved for the step up to six furlongs last time out."

Round Two, drawn 12, and Buratino, from stall 10, face 16 other two-year-olds including US challenger Finnegan, plus debut winners War Department and Air Force Blue.
