Sky Hunter returns to action in September Stakes

Sky Hunter makes his first appearance of 2016 in the G3 totescoop6 September Stakes (15.45hrs local time) over a mile and a half on Polytrack at Kempton Park, UK, on Saturday, September 3.
The six-year-old, who is trained by Saeed bin Suroor, was last seen out when finishing down the field in the G1 Emirates Melbourne Cup over two miles at Flemington, Australia, in November, 2015. Sky Hunter is a dual Pattern winner over 12 furlongs on turf, having landed the G2 Dubai City Of Gold at Meydan, Dubai, in March, 2015 and the G3 St Simon Stakes at Newbury, UK, in October, 2014.
Saeed bin Suroor commented: “We gave Sky Hunter a break. He is doing well at the moment and working really nicely.
“The horse is in good form and the trip will suit him but whatever he does on Saturday, he will improve for the race.”
James Doyle takes the ride on Sky Hunter, who faces six rivals on his all-weather debut including G1 winner Robin Of Navan plus G3 scorers Arab Dawn and Miss Marjurie.
Godolphin is also represented at Kempton Park on September 3 by Fly At Dawn (Charlie Appleby/William Buick) in the opening toteplacepot Conditions Stakes (14.10hrs local time) over seven furlongs.
The two-year-old Discreet Cat colt has won both of his starts so far, scoring in a six-furlong maiden at Newmarket on July 22 before following up in a nursery handicap over seven furlongs at Kempton Park on August 16.
