Dazzling Star produced a late rally to take third following a troubled passage in the G1 Natalma Stakes at Woodbine, Canada, on Saturday, 16 September.

The Blue Point juvenile broke slowly from her inside draw before being held up towards the rear of the 13-strong field by William Buick.

Dazzling Star moved up a couple of places as Ms Tart and Dancing Duchess were both snatched up leaving the back and quickened down the inner rail to dispute seventh turning in.

Switched out at the top of the straight, Dazzling Star was forced wide again after meeting traffic over a furlong from home. The Charlie Appleby-trained filly saw out the mile well, taking third from Ozara inside the final furlong to go down by just under seven lengths in total.

Charlie Appleby said: “We were pleased with the run of Dazzling Star, who will have learned plenty from the experience. The likelihood is that she will probably head to Dubai, where we will look at the turf races for three-year-old fillies.”
