Remuda closed strongly from the rear to take second behind local hero Patches O'Houlihan in the G3 Vigil Stakes at Woodbine, Canada, on Saturday, 14 September.
Making his first start on Tapeta, Remuda was initially outpaced and raced in a clear last as Patches O'Houlihan led the seven runners.
Remuda darted up the inside rail at the top of the straight and stormed passed most of the field, taking second from a fading Rockcrest over half a furlong out.
The Eoin Harty-trained sprinter hit the line strongly for Umberto Rispoli but never looked like catching Patches O'Houlihan, who held on comfortably for a 10th Woodbine victory.
